I have knit several of Kristen's patterns, including a mystery sock pattern. I decided to participate in a shawl KAL.
When I was knitting, I was afraid I'd made a mistake because the ribbed lace looked awful. But then after blocking the pattern is beautiful.
In the initial instructions, Kristen said to use a solid yarn or a gradient. I was insistent on using stash yarn and I only had one yarn with enough yardage. Sigh. I should have done a modified gradient with some other yarn in stash. This pattern would have done so much nicer in a solid yarn.
I also didn't swatch, which is a bad idea when you have just enough yardage. I evidently am no longer a tight knitter as it became evident near the end I was going to be woefully short on yardage. This began a frantic look on Ravelry. I'm apparently the only person in the world who bought this yarn and is on Ravelry. I finally found some overpriced mini skeins in a similar color. In fact, the darker colors and absence of yellow would have made a shawl I'd have loved even more. I alternated new and old yarn for the last ten rows. You may just be able to see the darker yarn in the bind off row.
Not that I don't love this shawl, but it could have been better.
Wiggle is a fan as well!
