Joining Ginny this week.
Feel free to leave a comment with what you're reading and knitting.

I find it ironic that a project with lotus blossoms - rather linked with the calm of Buddhism - could inspire such angst. After Partner's comments about "is it supposed to be so loose," et cetera, I've knit most of the last few days in dread.
Yesterday I finished up the front shaping and tried it on again and it wasn't long enough. Argh! I thought it might block out large enough and considered knitting on but in the end decided I needed to stop and block it and see if it was going to work.
The suggestion for blocking with shaping since it's 3D is to stuff paper in there, etc for the shape. Well, it seemed an actual bra made more sense than random paper. I haven't tried it on yet.... It looks good (it covers the bra)... I haven't worked up the nerve to try it on yet... I dread if it doesn't work... perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.
As for reading, I am super excited by Like Water! At Christmas, I happened to read a Reader's Digest article on the problem with modern American education and a mention on Sudbury schools.
The concept seems so clear to me - a baby learned to walk, talk, eat, stack, crawl.... well, everything. Without structure or rewards/consequences. Then, we stick kids in a school with mandates and structure. Do all those rules kill a child's natural curiousity? I think it might. And as we look to Wiggle's future, education is such a signficant decision to me.
Like Water is one chronicle of a Sudbury modelled school in Maryland. I'm about 20 pages in and the model is appealing more and more.
Has anyone seen Wiggle's washcloth?
