WIP Wednesday (but late and then on time again!)

 Hi there!

I waited so long with this post from last week that it's Wednesday again and not late! And who ever said procrastination was bad?

I finished book six and seven of the Anne of Green Gables series and just today started the eighth and final book! I'll be a bit sad when they are done! My kindle version is boring so here is the image from Amazon! 

 I'm continuing to make progress on my Lotus Blossom Tank but I don't have an updated picture. Nearly done with the lace. Now I know the rest of the tank is where the real work of modifications are going to begin. Lots of thinking, though fortunately it will all be stockinette so I may yet finish in a reasonable time.

I thought I'd resurrect my habit of doing WIP posts. That said, I've decided not to post the old ones from several years ago as it's just too depressing! :)

I started a baby hat, it was too big. I decided to make two for siblins but now I'm out of this beautiful, one of a kind yarn.  I know I have some great yarn to make matching hats but must dig around in the stash for it!

 My design attempts continue.  I decided I would do this double knit and worked on this some more only to realize a portion of it is just too large!  Argh!  I'm going to finish this attempt so I have some good measurements and then attempt to gird up the courage to try a fourth time. 

I don't think I've worked on my O.W.L.S. sweater since early spring! I'm at the point where I'd need to knit sleeves and join them to the body. I have a sneaking suspicion that it's too large and just can't bare the thought of it. 
I cast on for a size large enough for my chest, but I think it's going to result in the back being too large and thus the lace panel won't be shown to best advantage. I love the yarn, Madelinetosh DK, so I'm undecided if I'm going to finish or frog so it sits forlornly. 

 This WIP has been languishin even longer! I started Schooner when I first got to Hawaii thinking it would be a good nursing cover. A couple points:

1. Why did I think alpaca would make a good cover, especially in humid Hawaii?!?

2. I don't use nursing covers

3. If I did, one full of holes from lace wouldn't be that useful. 

But it's so rustically beautiful with the undyed natural alpaca, I want to believe I'll go back and finish it.

So there you have it!  Those are the WIPs I'm willing to admit to!  My Sister's Knitter is going to be having a WIPs C/KAL if you'd like to join us!

Gosh, I didn't realize how long it had been since I'd done one of these!

Last week I started Lotus Blossom Tank. This has been in my queue for over six years! The newest eat.sleep.knit challenge was to knit something from your first year on Ravelry.  This will certainly be a challenge as it's about 900 yards in two months.

Oh, and did I mention I'm modifying the heck out of it? 

The good news is that while it remains a shapeless blob for the next two months, I have tons and tons of knits to catch you up on!

I'm about a third of the way through Anne of Ingleside, the sixth book in L.M. Montgomery's amazing series. I want to live on PEI even more than before. I can't believe I'd only ever read the first book when I was younger.

My New Business

Hey there!

I know I've been kind of quiet the last couple months and I have so much to catch y'all up on! But this post is just one of those things.

Back at the beginning of June I started my own Rodan and Fields franchise!

I know, trust me.  You? Selling skincare?  Yeah, I get it.  But my reason is simple:

I work an hour from home.  So, I get up each morning and while Wiggle wants to play, I get ready for work. Then I try to rush out the door to get ahead of the traffic.  And then I work all day and wonder what Wiggle is doing. Then I rush home in the hopes that he isn't too tired and I can play with him for maybe an hour before dinner and bedtime routine.  And he rushes over when I get home and he's so happy to see me and he usually wants to just nurse to be close to me. Oh, and during the day he says, "Iwanmama!"

It sucks. 

And I don't want to do it anymore.

Back when I was pregnant, my friend Sarah introduced me to Rodan and Fields, founded by the same doctors that started ProActiv. She helped me with stupid pregnancy acne. And then when that was under control, she started introducing me to their anti-aging line. The products are awesome!

And at some point I mentioned how much I hate working and she said to join her. And I was like, "me? Successful professional woman with guaranteed income? No, that's okay, keep your franchise." 

But we've been friends for *mumble, mumble* years and I kept watching on Facebook. I really watched that she's a single mom to two amazing boys and this business allows her to be home with them.

And she mentioned to me that ProActiv is a global, multi-billion dollar business. And Rodan and Fields is one of the fastest growing business and it was only in the United States.

Except that this year, Rodan and Fields is going global, starting in Canada. 

Oh, and there is a new, revolutionary product being launched in September.

And I thought, "Am I letting a huge opportunity go by?"

So, in June I decided to stop wondering and start trying. 

So, here is my big business launch in this space! Don't worry, there will still be tons of knitting because I still need some kind of creative outlet! But I'll occasionally share my business stuff here.
