I won't even pretend that this is my knit!
In 2009, while traveling in Australia I decided to head to Katoomba, a magnificant mountain town I've written about before.
Wholely unprepared for a cold, rainy mountain climate, I bought this sweater for a couple dollars at the local thrift store. I thought it was too small, but it was the only 100% wool sweater. I figured I'd use it during the trip and fully intended to rip it out and reuse the yarn. And yet, it seemed a horrible end to something obviously so well crafted and obviously knit (because who would knit this otherwise?!?!) with love.
Now that I've resolved my body image issues (in part), I have kept this sweater and love wearing it. It has two small holes that have developed and I need to fix them. I've been remiss, but in prepping this picture, noticed the one had gotten larger.
I can only hope to produce something that on the right side looks as good as the "wrong" side of this sweater!
what a lucky thrift store find!
it could just be because i'm a knitter, but i love looking at the wrong side of projects.
