Kate-a-palooza - Results

We're a little delayed on the results.  Partner and I spent yesterday helping out at a trail run. Partner was 19 out of 32 for the 5 mile race!

We also helped out with support. I've been working the finish line and results, which is fun, but does make for a long day - 13 hours door to door yesterday. There I am by the finish line clock.

But on to the the Gifting!!!

Thank you so much for joining me for my birthday.  It was a great time and I really enjoyed all your fun comments. Now I need to finish a baby sweater, but I couldn't resist starting some socks any longer...

Anatomy of a Mud Run and sneak peek

Sorry for the long silence. I intended to post right before leaving for a work trip. Unfortunately I got a migraine that morning that sucked away several hours and so I just jetted away, without posting. But here's a gentle re-entry.

ANATOMY OF A MUD RUN

1. Sign up for 1/2 marathon during late Winter/early Spring.

2. It's more fun with friends. 

3. Run up exposed hill, but after all the fast runners, so it's nice and slick.  Try to get to a 'dry' ridge.  Miss.   4. Crawl under downed trees.

5.  Repeat.

6. Find running buddies. 

7. Attempt to run three abreast on a wet, two-butt trail.

8. Realize staying dry it futile. Unleash your child heart and run through puddles. 

9. Everything is better with aid stations and a support Partner. :) 

10. Commemorate occasion with friends.

11. Get ready for a shower.

12. That it... Repeat!

And now, for something completely different... I may have been quiet on the blog, but much knitting has been happening.  Proof:

Day 11 - A WIP

Right before Christmas, Lily France gave away a cute little knit.  I wanted to knit it but was bogged down in Christmas knitting.  I promised myself it would be a treat when I was done with holiday knits.  Little did I know about The Neverending Mittens of Doom.

And at Christmas my Mom gave me some 100% alpaca and I knew I wanted to pair the pattern and yarn.

About a week ago, I couldn't take it any longer.  Screw TNMofD! I did manage to finally finish the mitts.  But this it a work about WIPs, not FOs.

Today we were up running - my first 1/2 marathon of the year and I finished in under three hours! Partner was nice enough to film my finish.  

Clearly some celebratory knitting on Altounyan was in order!
